The "Legend of Lapsang Souchong". This infamous black tea is from the Fujian province in China, has an incredibly distinct smokey flavour that is steeped in lore. It is said that an army was passing by a tea factory and sought accomodation there. The tea was moved to make room for the army. Needing to dry the tea quickly, the workers lit open fires of pinewood to dry the tea to ensure it reached market on time. Thus a new definately distinct black tea flavour was born. How fasinating!
